The Asia-Pacific Youth Development Forum (APYDF) 2024: A Dialogue on Youth Innovation for Green Transition to Build Sustainable Cities and Resilient Food Systems will be held from 15 to 17 October 2024 at the United Nations Conference Center in Bangkok, Thailand, with the theme “Building Sustainable Cities and Resilient Food Systems.” Youth in the Asia-Pacific region will present their vision, recommendations, and solutions to advance green employment and entrepreneurship opportunities for a sustainable environment and climate-safe future.

Objectives

The Asia-Pacific Youth Development Forum (APYDF) 2024 aims to:

of green transition strategies and train young people to adopt sustainable practices.

Raise awareness

for youth-led Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to promote green development strategies.

Build capacity

for youth to share their vision, recommendations, and actions for a climate-safe future.

Provide a platform

ecosystems, green skills, and entrepreneurship for the Green Transition.

Strengthen innovation 

by mobilizing resources and expertise for youth and CSOs in green initiatives.

Enhance partnerships

for transitioning to low-carbon, environmentally sustainable economies.

Develop innovative policies

Under the leadership of UNDP Bangkok Regional Hub (BRH) and with the banner of the Asia Pacific Thematic Working Group on YPS (Asia Pacific YPS Coalition), the workshop aims to achieve the following objectives

THEMES

The sessions will focus on developing climate awareness, entrepreneurial mindsets, and 21st-century skills for young people to advance concrete actions and recommendations for Green Transition in the Asia-Pacific region. It will also foster a collaborative environment for dialogue with government officials, private sector leaders, academia, and other key stakeholders aligned with the implementation of the SDGs, among them are:
